Aug.- Oct. West Yorkshire History Centre. Young people have recorded the stories of their families of Pakistani and Kashmiri community. Spanning almost 70 years. the story starts with those who left their homeland, embarking on a journey to Britain and why some settled in Wakefield. Free admission.
Evolution of Asylum Patient Photography
23 July. 1.30 to 3pm. Wakefield One Library. An ilustrated talk by David Scrimgeour about the photos of inhabitants of the WR Pauper Lunatic Asylum. Local & Family History network for beginners. Free.
Hidden Relics : History of St George's Field aka Leeds General Cemetery
18 July 1-2pm Room 700 Leeds Central Library. A free talk by Morticia [ local researcher and artist]
Remembrance
Until Dec. 2018. Abbey House Museum, Kirkstall, Leeds. A display that reflects of how commemoration of those close to us in the past has changed since the Victorian era and features contributions from people in contemporary Leeds.
Huddersfield 150
Until November, Heritage Quay, Huddersfield. To celebrate 150 years since the town was incorporated into a borough, WYAS Kirklees will be dispplaying items from their collection. Free admission.
