Caring for Photographs
3 Oct. 6.30-8. 30pm West Yorkshire History Centre Learn the basics on storage, handling, care, packaging, advice on materials to use. Bring your own photos for advice/discussion. 12 per adult [or 60 for all six workshops].
Palaeography
26 Sept. 6.30-8.30pm West Yorkshire Histry Centre, Wakefield. Aimed at beginners with little or no experience. Using documents from the archives explore the quirks of 17th and 18th century handwriting, you will learn how to transcribe documents through numerous examples and hands on practice. Booking required. 12 per adult [or 60 for all six workshops].
Coal Faces
From 9 Sept. to December. West Yorkshire History Centre, Kirkgate, Wakefield. An exhibition that explores the National Coal Board Collection telling some of the stories of coal mining in West Yorkshire. Drop in during normal opening hours. Free.
